Half marathon for queer refugees

With the Russian invasion of Ukraine – a country where people are still fighting for wider acceptance of LGBTQI+ people – many people have to flee their country. At times like this, it is vital to help support the work of those helping people get to safety. A part of peace and security is the freedom to be known for who you are and to love free and safe from discrimination. BLUF (Breeches and Leather Uniform Fan Club) stands by their members in Ukraine and by those who – also in Russia – fight against the war and against discrimination. I therefore support the BLUF appeal for Rainbow Railroad.

Rainbow Railroad brings LGBTQI+ people from persecuted countries to safety. They are closely following along with the events and are carefully considering how they will impact LGBTQI+ individuals. The situation in Ukraine is alarming – Rainbow Railroad is concerned about the impact this conflict will have on the LGBTQI+ community in Ukraine and is preparing, in consultation with their partners in the region and around the world, how they can provide help to individuals at risk. Therefore, on April 3, I will exchange my leather with my sports gear to run the Graz half-marathon. For every km I will run, I’m going to donate 5 €. Do you want to support as well? Send me a message and/or follow this link for more information: A half marathon for Rainbow Railroad.
